Kangana Ranaut is on a promotional spree, for her new film “Emergency”, in which she is portraying the character of former PM Indira Gandhi. She has recently given a couple of interviews to promote her film. In one such interview, she claimed there were rapes and murders at the protest sites, which created a huge controversy.
On August 30, 2024, Bollywood’s drama queen, Kangana Ranaut, stirred up a storm on Twitter over the promo for her upcoming interview on “The Lallantop.” She fired off a tweet saying, “Hey Lallan ji, how much more are you going to edit? Are your masters still not happy with you? Just release the entire interview, uncut. What are you afraid of?”
The Kangana Ranaut Lallantop interview promo in question showed Kangana standing firm on her recent comments about the farmers’ protest. In the clip, she admits she’s been told by her party to stay quiet on the matter, but she still stands by her words without any regret.
Arrey Lallan ji aur kitna edit karoge, aapke masters abhi bhi khush nahi hue aapse? Ek baar sara interview daalo, uncut, darte kyu ho? 🙂

Choice of music and small shots chopped from all over 2 hours chat and pasted out of context, wah!! Itna insecure feel ho raha hai ki it’s been 4 days my team is asking for whole interview but you still can’t put entire interview? aapne bulaya hum aa gaye lekin kuch toh…

Her tweet quickly went viral, with fans and critics jumping in. Many sided with her, saying the promo was just an attempt to make fun of her rather than showing the interview fairly.
Others, though, thought Kangana was making a big deal out of nothing, claiming the promo was just doing its job by creating interest. As everyone was waiting for the full interview, Lallantop finally released the whole interview later on their YouTube channel.
The film has sparked controversy due to its portrayal of Sikhs. Harjinder Singh Dhami, the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), has called for an immediate ban on the movie, claiming that it misrepresents the Sikh community.
On Friday, the actress revealed that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has not yet issued a certificate for her film. She expressed hope that it would be granted on time but stated that if not, she is prepared to fight for it and take the matter to court.
This isn’t Kangana’s first run-in with social media drama. She’s well-known for speaking her mind, often using Twitter to share her opinions on everything from Bollywood to politics. In the past, Kangana has grabbed headlines for her blunt comments about other Bollywood stars, especially Ranbir Kapoor. In August 2020, she called him a “serial skirt chaser” and criticized the industry for not holding him accountable.
